Conditions we treat

Lung, chest, allergy & sleep conditions

Understand the common signs, then let us find the cause and build a treatment plan that fits your life.

Asthma

Inflamed, extra-sensitive airways that narrow with triggers such as dust, smoke, cold air or infections. Well controlled with the right inhaler plan.

  • Wheezing or whistling breath
  • Chest tightness
  • Cough worse at night or early morning

COPD

Long-term damage to the airways and lungs, most often from smoking or years of exposure to chulha, biomass or industrial smoke.

  • Daily cough with phlegm
  • Breathlessness on walking
  • Frequent chest infections

Tuberculosis

An infection spread through the air when someone with TB coughs or sneezes. It is fully curable when diagnosed early and treated completely.

  • Cough for more than 2 weeks
  • Evening fever, night sweats
  • Weight loss; blood in sputum

Obstructive sleep apnea

Breathing repeatedly stops and restarts during sleep. It strains the heart and leaves you exhausted even after a full night in bed.

  • Loud, heavy snoring
  • Pauses in breathing at night
  • Daytime sleepiness, morning headache

Allergy

The immune system overreacts to harmless things such as dust mites, pollen, mould, pets or certain foods. Allergy testing finds the trigger so it can be avoided or treated.

  • Sneezing, itching or watery eyes
  • Skin rash, hives or itching
  • Cough or wheeze on exposure

Allergic rhinitis

The body overreacts to pollen, mould, pet dander or house dust and releases chemicals that inflame the nose. Often linked with asthma.

  • Sneezing fits
  • Runny or blocked nose
  • Itchy eyes, nose or throat

Sinusitis

Swelling and infection of the sinuses, the air spaces around the nose. It often follows a cold or allergic rhinitis and can keep coming back if the cause is not treated.

  • Blocked nose, thick nasal discharge
  • Pain or pressure around the eyes and cheeks
  • Post-nasal drip, headache, reduced smell

Lung fibrosis (ILD)

Scarring of the lung tissue makes the lungs stiff, so breathing gradually becomes harder. Early diagnosis helps slow it down.

  • Breathlessness that slowly worsens
  • Dry, persistent cough
  • Tiredness; rounded fingertips

Pneumonia

An infection of the air sacs by bacteria, viruses or fungi. The sacs fill with fluid or pus, which makes breathing difficult.

  • Fever with chills
  • Cough with phlegm
  • Chest pain when breathing in

Smoking-related disease

Smoke harms the smoker and the family, especially children, who absorb residue left on clothes and furniture. Help to quit is part of care.

  • Persistent cough
  • Shortness of breath, chest pain
  • Coughing up blood

Lung cancer

Smoking is the biggest risk factor. Finding it early, with imaging and bronchoscopy, opens up far more treatment options.

  • A cough that changes or won’t go
  • Blood in sputum, hoarse voice
  • Unexplained weight loss
